The place in constant change. The change usually happens in a tempo that makes it invisible for the contemporary eye. But sometimes it happens fast: in «nature disasters» volcano outbreaks, fires, by direct «attack»on a landscape, by animals or humans, or by tearing down buildings/building new ones. The place can change through the seasons, in temperature or looks. But it is over longer periods of time that the significant changes happen, like in Dælenenga

4.500 million years ago, dælenenga was part of a glowing mass-before the crust of the earth shaped. For 2000 million years, it was then covered with ice. But 570 million years ago a total downmelting that lasted for 70 million years. by oceans. In the next 200 million years Dælenenga is covered by ocenas. Part of a bottom of the sea covered with coral reefs.

From 345 to 280 million years back rules a subtropic, humid climate in the area.Tropical forests, with giant trees and heavy growing vegetation filling the ground, It grows forests of horsetail plants- 3o meter high plants with 2 meter in diameter thick trunks. Giant insects, spiders and scorpions of 70 cm lengths and cochrouches have a blast.

250 million years ago the idyll breaks. ---the oslo area turns volcanic. Lava filles up in the area. And then, from 225 to 190 million years ago, Dælenenga is desert. Desert with flying sand. Towards the end of the period the climate gets more humid. Palmtrees show up conifers, sealilies etc. Lizards (dinosaurs) grows up. Up to 50 tonns. They probably grazed also on dælenenga.

136-65 million years ago. The mammals start growing up. The oak shows itself. from 65-1,5 million years back, it starts getting colder. the ice comes back. Dælenenga is covered by 3000 metres of icebergs. 9500 years ago the last ice melts away in the area. It then stays under water. Only grefsenåsen og ulleråsen makes little islands over sealevel. From 9500 to 7500 it is warm and dry and pinetree time.

From 7500 to 5000 it is warm and humid. The first people in oslo makes their camp in dælenenga.in the socalled «older stone age», the sealine goes just up to dælenenga. They live near the beach. From 1910-1914 they find many objects from the stone age settlers in the area.40 stone axes, tools, out-eaten oystershells, from the oslofjord and remains from their fireplace.

From 5000 to 2500 years back it is warm and dry. It grows lind, oaks and ask. From 2500 till todayit is spruce tree time. Humid and cold. Dælenenga is also lived on in later periods. Inthe 13 -16th century dælenenga is the garden for all the priests in the Mariachurch, .living in the area.

Today, you will find amongst other the rodeløkka colony-gardens on the area, and big blocks of flats. It does not have much vegetation, much of the soil is covered in asphalt. Many people live here, on many floors. Besides that, cats and dogs dominate the area, but are not alloved to live there. Small species of birds also exists. The air is marked by fumes from constant traffic of many cars.
The most occuring wind is today coming from the south in the summer, from north to north-east in the winter. The wind is moderat because of a sheltered situation. Often there is no wind, especially in the winter. From year 1931 till 196o the middle temperature in january is 4,7´C, in july 17,3. Middle temperature the year as a whole- 5.9 C.It rains most in «August», the least in «March»
Highest measured temperature August 1982; 34,2C. Lovest in year 1941 ;- 26C.
